Get to Know Maricela
This past month, we celebrated Maricela’s 15th year at Elite!
In 2007, Maricela started in the production department for Elite Document Technology, and then she decided she wanted to do more. Within 7 months, Maricela was working in the depositions department for Elite Deposition Technologies. Now Maricela is the Deposition Production Coordinator. She handles all transcript production including printing of transcripts, exhibit copying, scanning and uploading of files to repositories while communicating and notifying clients. She also assists with deposition coverage locally and nationally and answering of multi-line phone system as needed.
We are so grateful to have her as a part of the team, especially for the last 15 years. Get to know more about Maricela by reading our interview with her below.
How has your role changed over the past 15 years?
I started in Production, making copies. I have always had a passion for learning, so I made it a goal to learn more about depositions. I saw a future for myself in that department, so I made a goal to be there. I have now been doing it after 1 year in production. I have learned so much but still have goals to learn even more.
What have been your biggest accomplishments at Elite?
My biggest accomplishments are that I can excel at my job without heavy oversight. I have also had great mentors in the past, so now I feel as though I am able to effectively teach others, and I think that’s an achievement and an advantage. I really enjoy helping others become skilled in this position and learn how to be successful in this role, while helping our clients be successful. I feel that having confidence in my skill set is a great accomplishment as well.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?
Well, this one is hard, but I would say Bobbi Moore and Terry Reeves. I have learned so much about work and family from Terry. He has always been a family man. As for Bobbi, I love the way she speaks – I think she is very well-spoken and carries herself well. Yes, I know her job as CFO is hard, but she gets things done, and she does things well. I like to get things done in a timely fashion as well and find ways to do it smarter and not harder.
What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?
Well, I talk to everyone, so our coworkers know a lot, but I love to cook, and I love to be at home with my family. I am always with my kids.
I’m a football mom, and yes, I’m that mom that screams during football games.
What motivates you?
My Husband Ismael. Our motto is: Pray, Focus, Hustle and Repeat.
Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Definitely DISNEY WORLD with my family. I’ll never forget the smile that my kids had on their faces the first time we went. Those smiles were priceless!
What is one thing you cannot live without?
My kids and my husband. Everything I do, I do it for them!
What’s your favorite part about your job?
There’s a lot that I love about my job and this company. I love the way Elite is very family oriented. Love that Elite and all its team members are always there to help you grow and learn. Elite always goes above and beyond to take care of their employees. For example, we do monthly meetings, and we do outdoor gatherings together. We are always told by leadership that we are welcome to bring and include our families, and that means a lot to me.
